Chairmats extend carpet and hard flooring life by keeping the caster from direct contact with the carpet or hard floor and dispersing pressure over a much broader area. Many carpet manufacturers void their warranty when a chair with casters is used without a chair mat. Also, when using a chair mat on a carpeted surface it is likely you will reduce fatigue. Using a mat requires less effort by you to move around your workspace resulting in less back and leg strain.
Deflecto chair mats are rolled for the consumers convenience when transporting the product. To unroll the chair mat make sure it is at least room temperature, unroll on a hard surface and place weight on all four corners. Beveled edge mats work best for frequent rolling on and off of your mat. Their ramped edge allows for a smoother transition from the carpet to the chair mat. Beveled edges are almost always more appropriate with thicker mats.

If your chair has casters be sure they are "soft" casters and have wide wheels. If the chair has narrow or steel casters premature wearing of the mat may occur.
Traditional mats are made from PVC--poly vinyl chloride and are softer and more pliable than "polycarbonate" mats. Polycarbonate mats are highly rigid, resilient mats and due to the hardness will provide less friction on the casters. They offer exceptional clarity and they won't curl, crack or discolor. Unlike mats with a stud underneath, a checkered mat has an innovative bottom grid that will work on any thickness or style of carpet. LTF (Lint Trap Kit) is designed to vent inside the home. A gas dryer should not be used with this product; gas fumes would be vented inside the home and could result in increased carbon monoxide levels.
EX12 (Extra Heat-Heat Saver) can be hooked up to divert heat inside a room. Same as the LTF, a gas dryer venting inside a home can result in increased carbon monoxide levels.
Typically, our clothes Dryer Booster Fan will add an additional 25 feet of venting capability to your dryer venting run. But let's discuss your "total venting capability". There are two important factors to consider. First, check your clothes dryer owner's manual. If your dryer will vent a maximum of 30 feet, then adding our Clothes Dryer Booster Fan will create 55 feet of venting capability for your dryer. Secondly, you must add up all 90 degree bends or turns in your venting run. For every 90 degree bend, take off 5 feet of venting capability.
Deflecto's Supurr-Flex multi layered metallic duct or our 2-play metallic duct are UL181 Class 1 Air Connectors. These UL Listed ducts are most commonly used in residential.
In the case of our Clothes Dryer Booster Fan, your options are: 1)wire to a wall switch or speed control switch, 2)include a pressure or air sending switch in the duct work, 3) wire to a dryer fan circuit. We fully recommend all wiring be done by a licensed electrician in accordance with local codes.
Yes, Deflecto makes a Universal Bird Guard. Designed to prevent birds and rodents from entering your dryer or bathroom vent, the bird guard mounts of any existing 3 or 4 inch wide mouth or louvered vent. Simply attach our bird guard with screws. When using over a dryer venting hood make sure to clean it regularly to prevent lint build up.

You should clean or replace your dryer duct at least twice a year. A clean duct shortens drying time, puts less stress on your dryer extending its life expectancy, and most importantly, protects your family and home from fire.
Vinyl hose creates static electricity. When warm moist lint travels through duct, it adheres to the wall of the vinyl. This reduces air flow, causes back pressure and makes the dryer have to work harder, possibly overheating and perhaps resulting in a dryer fire. Deflecto has excellent replacement products for your plastic and vinyl duct, like Semi-Rigid Duct, Flexible Metallic Duct and Supurr-Flex Metallic Duct.
Deflecto offers a dryer cleaning kit (item #DVBRUSH8K) that will allow you to clean out your duct in hard to reach places. It is important to remember to clean the back of your dryer as well and always remember to clean your dryer's lint trap after each use. Dryer lint brush sold separately (item #DVBRUSH).
